Luo Yuan: Hello, everyone. I'm Luo Yuan. I'm usually keen on "drawing villains".

Tencent design: for some time, because the netizens of "star Lilliputian" created by you broke the defense one after another, can you briefly introduce this project to you?
Luo Yuan: actually, before this series, I was painting the 1050 strangers series. It is usually at the roadside after work to draw strange pedestrians in a quick way. After being posted on the Internet, I received many comments from netizens, so I began to draw their comments.
Luo Yuan painted 1050 strangers in a roadside shop. Some people are reading books and delivering express. Some passers-by are sighing, heartbroken or happy. Each villain has a different mood and appearance.
It was not until I received a special message that the mother of an autistic child wanted me to draw a picture of her child. I was touched and began to draw in this regard. Gradually, there was a series of star Lilliputians. In my opinion, the "star Lilliputian" series is more of your works, which is a collection of stories shared by you.
According to this special message, Luo Yuan drew the children. Since then, Luo Yuan's message area has become a large wishing square.
Tencent design: so many little people, how do you maintain the design differences between them?
Luo Yuan: I don't think it's intentional to maintain differences. There is uncertainty in the painting itself, and there will be differences in the description of the message. Naturally, they are different "villains".
Tencent design: what are the most impressive stories in this process? Can you share them with us briefly?
Luo Yuan: it's difficult for me to compare the depth of these messages. Some of them are just a simple sentence. There may be deep emotions behind them, and the weight of these emotions can't be compared and measured.
Star villains become the emotional sustenance of netizens, carrying thoughts and blessings. Among these little stars, some are living hard, some are guarding the frontier, and some are mourned relatives.
Tencent design: have you calculated how many little people you drew? Which work do you like best? Why?
Luo Yuan: no specific calculation. I think there should be 20000.
I like the next series best because I can draw another picture. I still cherish my own paintings, but I hope to paint the next one better.

Tencent design: what do you think is the biggest change and invariance from the painting of mountain spirits, sea monsters, and the recent star Lilliputian series?
Luo Yuan: when creating the books of mountains and seas, materia medica and monster series, because he was interested in traditional culture at that time, he paid more attention to the combination of exotic animal forms in traditional culture and modern style villains. After graduation, he also painted a series of strange creatures because of owning a cat.

Later, he paid more attention to the specific people in front of him, which led to the birth of the 1050 strangers series and the masked Lilliputian series. Now I will follow the message stories of netizens and draw some stars and villains who are either sick or have left. I will also start to pay attention to the significance of painting.

Luo Yuan: in my experience in the company, I may consider the business itself more, coordinate the requirements of users, products, operations and other parties, finally achieve the design effect and be responsible for the results. In my working hours, I focus on doing a good job in vision and my business. I think it's very good. What is more valuable is that I met many rare partners in the company, which I cherish very much.
Tencent design: how do you understand design and what design concepts have always influenced you?
Luo Yuan: design is a complex problem, which is difficult to generalize. I think design is the pursuit of certain concepts, such as "beauty", which makes the picture more beautiful and the interface more beautiful; Another example is the pursuit of "function", making function more practical, and so on.
Tencent design: you will give people a pure and peaceful feeling. Is it related to your continuous painting of villains?
Luo Yuan: maybe it's because I hope to take "painting villains" as a lifelong thing to do, so I won't be too anxious. Many things can be done slowly.
Tencent design: as a creator, how do you get creative inspiration and proposition?
Luo Yuan: love is the source of creation. As for the acquisition of inspiration, I feel that doing what I like and learning to observe will gradually become a part of life, and many ideas and inspiration will also be born naturally. There is no need to be anxious, just do what I like.
The series of Shanhaijing and Bencao monsters were created because they were interested in traditional culture when they were students. The series of strange creatures was born because they raised cats. Because they were busy with their work, they chose to paint the series of 1050 strangers on the roadside. They are all part of my life, and they also affect my understanding and view of painting.
Up to now, the "star Lilliputian" created according to netizens' comments has made me pay more attention to the essence of painting, and I also hope to make my paintings have different meanings.
Tencent design: are there any good suggestions and methods to share in coordinating work and life?
Luo Yuan: I suggest staying focused. I myself will treat life and work in a more fragmented way. I can make efficient use of my working time and focus on doing the current things. After work, I can live a good life and have my own private space.

Luo Yuan: I don't like reading very much, but I listen to some interesting programs while drawing. Many programs on "see ideal" are very interesting. For example, teacher ChenDanQing's "part" has a very good chat.
